Self-Compassion in Action 

Hand over heart 

I stay with the suffering, invite it to tea 

Consoling myself, turning inward 

Speaking words to myself I would say to a precious friend 

Changing the inner voice 

Less harsh 

More kind 

Accepting 

I hold space for my shortcomings 

And realize, once again, my humanity 

Meditation like water 

Smoothing the sharp words into smooth river stones 

With love
